The short version
StarkZip the application talks to starkzip.com for exactly one purpose: updates. To deliver updates the app sends your domain, machine name, Windows user name, OS version, app version and IP address on each check-in. We do not collect, transmit or sell the contents of your archives, file names, browsing, or anything else.
Details we receive from the app
- Device id — a random GUID generated at install; not linked to your Microsoft account or hardware serials.
- Domain, machine name and user name — used to identify installations in the update dashboard.
- OS and app version — used to route compatible updates.
- IP address — recorded from the connection, as any web server records it.
Website
starkzip.com serves static pages and the installer download. We keep aggregate download counts; we do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
Your archive contents
Never transmitted. Compression and extraction happen entirely on your machine. Encrypted .starkzip archives cannot be read by anyone without the password — including us.
